Eight observations and eight examinations

1. On the inspection steps of excavator engine: "eight looks and eight checks". Look for smoke and check for wear. Two, look at carbon deposition, check the working condition. Three, look at the water temperature, check the cooling. Four, look at the gas distribution, check the valve. Five, look at the cylinder pressure, check whether the leakage. Six look at the smoke, check the smoke color. Seven look at the oil injection, check the card dead. Eight look at the fire head, sooner or later.

2. Excavator engine timing: check the fire head in the morning and evening to see whether the fire head refers to whether the oil injection is timely, that is, whether the oil supply advance Angle meets the regulations. Each type of diesel engine has its fuel advance Angle marked in the manual.

3. Remove the high-pressure oil pipe at one end of the injector.

4. Loosen the nut of the high-pressure oil pipe connected to one end of the fuel injection pump, rotate the high-pressure oil pipe to a position so that the nozzle faces up, and then tighten the nut.

5. Place the hand throttle at the oil supply position, pump oil with the oil pump wrench or rotate the flywheel, stop rotating immediately when the oil level of the nozzle begins to rise, and observe whether there is an oil supply scale line on the flywheel that is aligned with the mark on the water tank. If the lines are aligned or the difference is not large (within 8mm of the circumference of the flywheel), the oil supply time is correct, otherwise it needs to be adjusted.

• Greater resistance. Making liners separately from the engine block allows the use of special higher performance materials than those used for the construction of the block itself. Liners are generally made in special cast iron alloys containing elements with natural lubricating properties, like graphite. Other components are added like chrome, vanadium, and molybdenum to help ensure resistance to corrosion and wear caused by high temperatures.

• Easier maintenance. When liners are worn they can be replaced more easily than changing an entire cylinder block.

• Higher thermal conductivity. At operating temperatures the liners heat up more than the cylinders and must be able to expand in both diameter and length. If they were cast together with the cylinders, the resulting thermal loading would be high enough to fracture the materials.

• Less risk of defects. The more complex a casting, the more difficult it is to achieve perfectly even surfaces with low residual stresses.
